DT | Cam Mechanisms

As a relief from our tests, we have been making moving toys with, what they call cam mechanisms. This looks a bit like a stick with a circular piece of wood on it. The awesomized picture below this writing is what it looks like.

We all have been making these, despite them being very hard to make, we used loads of tools including a Glue GUN!! HeHEHeHE, thats was seriously cool!

We also used Hack-saws and drills that WEREN'T electric, or as cool as the Glue Gun, (We didn't use the glue gun ourselves, Mr Ward, Mrs Bartlett, and on Friday Mrs Skyner said she would do the Glue Gun.

Not many people managed to finish theirs, but we do have Friday, and we did get close enough considering we have all day on Friday.

Our Egyptian Topic

This term class 5SB have been making up our own Egyptian myths involving various gods from ancient Egypt. They had to be about a natural phenomenon or how something was created like,for example,how lightning was created or why the river Nile is here today.

My myth was about lightning and why it strikes trees the  most. It had three gods in it; Horus ,god of the air, Tefnut,goddess of moisture and Isis, goddess of nature. One day Isis was making the trees grow so high to deliberately rip the clouds.(so if no rain, then no river, then no Egypt.).  Tefnut tries to keep the clouds out of her way but gets tired eventually. Horus tried to help move the clouds but instead lightning came out. The lighning struck the tree which made it turn into ashes. Horus explained to Isis the difficulty with taking the clouds away and she understood and stopped her destruction of the clouds. By Luc

My myth was about why the wind blows. Many moons ago in Aknums palace two gods were arguning about the the freedom to rule. They challenged each other to a duel of powers on top a volcano. Half way through the battle the volcano erupted and the god of wind froze the lava. The other god was saved from falling into the volcano therefore because of his actions he is now free to do as he wishes. By Rafferty

5x5x5 = Creativity

Hello I'm Katie and I'm Hannah from class 5SB.In PPA we are doing 5 x 5 x 5. which is like forest school but a madeup world for, an example, I am Flip I live with Flop my sister I am an urangatang with fire power and Hannah is called Scar, she is a pig, she has golden hair with a hat and wears big black boots. She lives with her friend May.You have to act in your character until you get back in the classroom or if you're at the fire circle.You can choose who you want to live with in you're den and how you are related to each other.

I like being Flip because she is an urangatang and has fire power and I like getting muddy.
I like being Scar because she is a flying pig that can poo on you  and  she can eat snakes.

One  more thing is the Hills of the dead, if you tresspass into someones den you will be taken to the Hills of the dead by Mrs Pavement for 5 mins.If you are seen by the zombies you will regret it!!!!

This is 5SB blog. It was our assembly on friday the 27th april we enjoyed it a lot! And hoped you did as well.As you probaly don't no Mrs Skyner lost her voice when she came in on wednesday she said she had a very quite weekend.the day befor the play we were excited and sceared at the same time.We loved the face paints and we all looked funny.By Katie cooper and Lily williams.
